About License Cram

License Cram is a free study site for U.S. Commercial Driver License (CDL) applicants. We publish state-by-state guides and practice questions for the General Knowledge exam and every endorsement (Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, Hazardous Materials, Tanker, Doubles/Triples, Passenger, and School Bus).

Where our content comes from

Our practice questions are written from the public-domain FMCSA Model Commercial Driver's License Manual (the same source most states adapt for their own CDL handbooks), supplemented with the regulatory text in 49 CFR Parts 383 and 391. We do not reproduce any state's proprietary test questions; the items here are original questions designed to teach the same concepts the official tests assess.
